REPORT: Chris Warren might be out with a torn ACL.

Scout.com is reporting that Chris Warren might be out with a torn ACL. This would be a huge loss for the Rebels.

Ole Miss loses a hard fought game to 9 Louisville 77-68

Ole Miss came out and played a hard fought game to 9 Louisville 77-68. The game almost got away early but Ole Miss fought back and kept it close. I’m not into “moral victories” but this is a game that the team can and should build off of. Chris Warren scored 18 and David Huertas added 20 to lead the rebels.

Ole Miss was once again out rebounded 35 to 54

Statements Regarding Rebel Coach Andy Kennedy

In response to the charges made against Ole Miss Head Basketball Coach Andy Kennedy in Cincinnati, Ohio, Thursday morning, Athletics Director Pete Boone and Coach Kennedy issued the following statements:

“Clearly, this is an unfortunate situation. However, after a full discussion with Andy Kennedy and his staff, who were with him, I have the utmost confidence that once all the facts are known, Coach Kennedy will be cleared of all charges,” said Boone, who is with the team.

“I regret this situation,” Kennedy said. “The focus should be on the players and the game, not on me. I vehemently deny the charges levied against me, and am completely confident that I will be fully exonerated of all charges.”

Coach Kennedy will continue his coaching duties.

KENNEDY UPDATE

I saw this on one of my favorite blogs.

“Right now it is expected that Andy Kennedy will coach Ole Miss tonight against No. 9 Louisville.

I have not been about to reach a university official for anything other than I was told about an hour ago. At that time Kennedy and Pete Boone were meeting, and an official statement from the university is expected to follow.

I’ve been able to reach no one from media relations for an update.

I am in the lobby of the team hotel, and the Rebels are still scheduled for a 1 p.m. shootaround at US Bank Arena.

On the surface nothing has changed, or at least nothing that anyone is talking about.”

Practice Report: Wednesday

With the redshirt freshman duo of QB Nathan Stanley and WR Melvin Harris simulating Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree, the Rebels worked hard Wednesday on the Cotton Bowl gameplan. It was another hard-hitting practice as was Tuesday. Wednesdays practice also had a few periods that focused on the younger players.

Senior OG Muarice Miller was back at practice today even though his eligibility for the bowl game has still not been confirmed. Houston Nutt has said that. “We are hopeful.” According to David Brandt’s Blog Muarice Miller has not been cleared yet because one of his grades hasn’t come through because a professor left town.
